off-label use for cystitis problem in my cat June 13, 2008 Reviewer: JUDY THACKER from SUN CITY, CA United States   My cat had blood in her urine and was spraying all over the house.  She was not even cleaning herself.  My former vet tried a number of treatments without help.  Finally, a 2nd vet tried Cosequin capsules.  At first twice a day then reducing to once a day, as off-label use.  All her problems have been resolved.  We mix the contents with two teaspoons of water and a teaspoon of prescription of Royal Canin SO canned food in the morning.  She's also on dry Royal Canin SO too.  This combination has stopped the spraying the urinary symptoms and she now is beautifully groomed.
