EqStim® Immunostimulant
Years of research and over one million doses have proven EqStim Immunostimulant to be both safe and effective. The active ingredient in EqStim is inactivated Propionibacterium acnes, a naturally occurring bacteria recognized as a safe yet potent stimulator of cell mediated immunity (CMI). In addition to research and field studies, numerous independent research articles and studies have been published regarding the use of P. acnes without reports of toxicity or adverse side effects. The other ingredients in EqStim are USP grade ethanol and saline, providing a safe product for I.V. administration. It is important for practitioners to note that EqStim does not employ any adjuvants. (Oil-based adjuvants have been implicated in adverse side effects when administered I.V.).

Safe
The active ingredient in EqStim is a potent stimulator of cell-mediated immunity. By stimulating, almost exclusively, cellular immunity, there is a reduced opportunity for allergic reactions. A mild to moderate fever spike may occur after the first injection of EqStim. This reaction can be anticipated, but will not necessarily be observed.

Convenient Multiple Dose Vials
EqStim is supplied in both a 5 mL and 50 mL multi-dose vial. This convenient packaging is a space saver. The 5 mL vial provides for dispensing of a smaller multi-dose package for use in foals. The 50 mL vial provides a 12-dose package for a 1,000 lb horse and, with no refrigeration required, unopened vials need not occupy valuable refrigerator space.

The recommended dose is 1 mL per 250 lbs. of body weight. Inject the proper dose on day 1, day 3 (or 4), and day 7. After each injection, clinical signs should be monitored to evaluate the need for additional injections.
