I've been using this med for my golden for over 4 years and it definitely works. His dosage has increased to 3 pills twice a day. As soon as I see him sneeze, lick his paws constantly or scratch alot, I begin with the meds. It seems to help him out alot. He hasn't had any really bad hots spots in over 2 years.

I have a 5 year old black lab name Oreo. He receives 6 Clemastine a day. This is part of his dermatological treatment, including allergy shots and weekly baths. In general, Oreo is doing better, he only got 3 infections this year compared to 5 plus steroids shots last year. Once a dog is allergic is a long term process.

I read your reviews and this is the first time I have used this company. I hope my yellow lab has a good summer.

three months later 9/12/07, I tried last year and it helped, this year his allergies have become worse. Had to give him a Cortisone shot, hate to do that but did. I talked to the vet, we went to four pills a day, two in the morning and two in the evening. Still licks. I think it helps, but not a great deal for my Lab.

I have had Jake on the pill for 6 days now, and i see no difference in his itching problem. I have him up to two pills a day, how many can gou give him???

If you have a dog with itchy allergies try this product. I have two dogs, both suffer, or I should say used to suffer terribly with itchy allergies. Unlike the other reviewers it took a few days before I thought it was working and I had to give a little more than recommended. But now, 10 days later, the dogs get one pill each (in some peanut butter) in the morning and one at night and they are good to go. I'm very happy for my dogs, they were miserable for a long time, but no more.

The dermatological veterinarian to whom I took my Rhodesian prescribed Clematine for chronic allergies. I've tried other over the counter antihistimines with no success. I am grateful to find a product that relieves all her symptoms: itchy ears with head-shaking and licking of paws. She is a happier dog when on clemastine!

My dog has cronic ear problems with swelling infection and black goo. I tried everything (expensive food, fish oil pills, benedryl) and didn't want to resort to steroid shots every 6 weeks. I researched on the internet and some vets suggest Tavist D which has Clemastine as main ingredient. I tried this and gave my black pointer 1 tablet a day and after the first day the swelling, discharge and redness have disappeared. Now a week later, there are no signs of ear problems. I think I have finally found my solution.

Our border collie has always suffered from allergies. She was so bad she had sores, scabs & lost most all her hair. I tried everything & didn't want to put her through shots! I found this website & tried Clemastine, I put her on it 2-3 tablets/day for 2 weeks, she GOT BETTER, by the 3rd week the scratching, itching & chewing stopped. 3 months later, all her beautiful hair is back & no sores! After 2 months I cut her down to 1 tablet/day & now I just give it to her every other day. She is much happier, acts like a puppy! I recommend anyone that has gone through the sadness of watching their dog suffer from allergies, to try this, your dog will thank you. One bottle has lasted almost 4 months. if you have trouble giving a pill to your dog, like I have, they are very small, I just keep a bag of cut-up hot dogs in the fridge, and when it's pill time, I put 1 pill in a hot dog, and it's treat time for her, she loves it! If your dog suffers, PLEASE try this, you have nothing to lose.
