For use as an aid in controlling bacteria that cause bovine mastitis. Refer below for directions for preparation of the 0.5% solution and proper use as a teat dip.

DIRECTIONS

To Prepare 0.5% Teat Dip Solution: Reconstitute Nolvasan 5% Teat Dip Concentrate at the rate of one part concentrate to nine parts clean potable water, or as indicated in the chart below.

Use of “hard water” may result in some precipitation. If the 0.5% solution is to be held longer than 1 week, it is advisable to use distilled or deionized water.

Use of 0.5% Teat Dip Solution: Teat dipping should start 1 week before the cow freshens. During lactation, dip each teat into the 0.5% solution immediately after the cow is milked. When the cow is dried off, the teats should continue to be dipped in the solution once a day for 3 to 4 days. Dip each teat so that the lower 1 inch of the teat has been covered with the solution.

Udder and teats of the cow should be thoroughly washed before milking.

If minor irritation or chapping of the teats should occur during lactation, it is often helpful to dilute the 0.5% solution half and half with clean water for a couple of days and then gradually return to use of the 0.5% solution.

CAUTION: May be irritating to eyes or mucous membranes. May be harmful if swallowed. Avoid contamination of feed or feedstuffs. If in contact, flush thoroughly with water. Rinse empty container with water and discard.

WARNING: Do not use this solution undiluted. Dip teats only in a properly prepared 0.5% solution as directed. Do not use this solution for cleaning milking equipment.

Store at controlled room temperature 15° to 30°C (59° to 86°F). Avoid freezing or exposure to excessive heat.
