What is Enroquin (Enrofloxacin Flavored Tablet)?

What does Enroquin (Enrofloxacin Flavored Tablet) do?
This medication works by destroying the bacteria that commonly cause urinary tract cystitis in dogs, dermal infections, and respiratory tract infections. Enrofloxacin effectively penetrates all feline and canine body fluids and tissues. It is a synthetic quinolone carboxylic acid derivative-class chemotherapeutic agent with antimicrobial action against various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The digestive tract quickly absorbs enrofloxacin, and it then penetrates all body fluids and tissues.

Tips for using Enroquin (Enrofloxacin Flavored Tablet)
Enrofloxacin tablets by Putney demonstrate the same safety profile and efficacy as the comparable Baytril® Taste Tabs®.
Overview
Our FDA-approved, veterinary generic tablets are beef flavored and available in the same strengths, scoring, and bottle counts as Baytril® Taste Tabs®.

General dosage guidelines are below, but you should use Enroquin as instructed by your veterinarian.

  • Dogs: Administer orally at 5-20 mg/kg (2.27 to 9.07 mg/lb) of body weight. Selection of a dose within the range should be based on clinical experience, the severity of disease, and susceptibility of the pathogen. Carefully monitor animals that receive doses in the upper-end of the dose range for clinical signs that may include lack of appetite, depression, and vomiting. If dogs do not consume Enrofloxacin Flavored Tablets willingly when offered by hand, the tablet(s) may be offered in food.
  • Cats: Administer orally at 5 mg/kg (2.27 mg/lb) of body weight. In cats, Enrofloxacin Flavored Tablets should be pilled. After administration, watch the animal closely to be certain the entire dose is consumed.

The dose for dogs and cats may be administered either as a single daily dose or divided into two (2) equal daily doses administered at twelve (12) hour intervals. Continue the dose for at least 2-3 days beyond the cessation of clinical signs, to a maximum of 30 days.

Dispense tablets in tight containers only, and store them at controlled room temperature, 68-77ºF (20-25ºC).
