Gentacalm Topical Spray is used for the treatment of infected superficial skin lesions in dogs caused by bacteria sensitive to gentamicin. Gentacalm Topical Spray provides antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity to irritated and infected skin lesions.

What does Gentacalm Topical Spray do?
Gentacalm contains gentamicin as its active ingredient, which is a highly potent broad spectrum antibiotic that fights a variety of bacterial skin infections. The quick-acting spray also contains betamethasone valerate, known to stop swelling and itching at the infection site.
Gentacalm Topical Spray side effects
Potential adverse reactions following systemic or parenteral synthetic corticosteroid use include:
  • Diarrhea (sometimes bloody)
  • Vomiting
  • Polyuria (excessive urination)
  • Polydipsia (excessive thirst)
  • Anorexia
  • Weight loss
  • Elevated enzymes

Tips for using Gentacalm Topical Spray
  • Gentacalm is odorless, non-greasy, and non-staining.
  • Using Gentacalm for more than a week may result in delayed healing of wounds. Your veterinarian should closely monitor extended use.
Overview
Administer 2 to 4 times daily for a week.

Remove excessive hair prior to treatment. Clean the lesion and surrounding area. Holding the bottle upright and 3 to 6 inches from the treatment area, depress the sprayer head twice.
Main Ingredients
Each mL contains: gentamicin sulfate equivalent to 0.57 mg gentamicin base, betamethasone valerate equivalent to 0.284 mg betamethasone, 163 mg isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, methylparaben and propylparaben as preservatives, purified water q.s. Hydrochloric acid may be added to adjust pH.
