What to know before using Tylovet Soluble Powder 100 gm
- PIGS:
- Do not slaughter swine for food until after 48 hours following final treatment. CHICKENS:
- Do not slaughter chickens for food until 24 hours following final treatment. Layers that are producing eggs for human consumption should not use this medication. TURKEYS:
- Do not slaughter turkeys for food until 5 days following final treatment. HONEY BEES:
- Administer this drug early in the fall or spring for consumption before main flow of honey starts. This will avoid contaminating honey production. Treatments should be completed 4 weeks before main flow of honey.

Tips for using Tylovet Soluble Powder 100 gm
Do not use in conjunction with antibiotics, like clindamycin, lincomycin, or chloramphenicol.
Overview
Dosage and Administration: Always use as directed by veterinarian. Mixing (concentrated solution): To assure thorough dissolution, place the entire contents of one pouch of Tylovet in a mixing container and add one gallon of water (3790 mL) to the Tylovet Soluble Powder. Always add water to the powder. Do not pour the powder into the water. Prepare a fresh solution every three days.
Chickens
Mix the concentrated solution with water to make 50 gallons (189 liters) of treated drinking water. Treat for 3 days (1 to 5 days depending upon severity of infection). Treated chickens must consume enough medicated water to provide 50 mg per pound of body weight per day. Only medicated water should be available to the birds.
Turkeys
Mix the concentrated solution with water to make 50 gallons (189 liters) of treated drinking water. Treat for 3 days (2 to 5 days depending upon severity of infection). Treated turkeys must consume enough medicated water to provide 60 mg per pound of body weight per day. Only medicated water should be available to the birds.
Swine
Mix the concentrated solution with water to make 400 gallons of treated drinking water (250 mg/gal). Treat for 3 to 10 days, depending upon severity of infection. Treated swine must consume enough medicated drinking water to provide a therapeutic dose. Only medicated drinking water should be available.
Honey Bees
Colonies should receive three treatments administered as a dust in confectioners/powdered sugar. Mix 200 mg of tylosin in 20 g confectioners/powdered sugar (use immediately). Apply over the top of the brood chambers once weekly for 3 weeks.
Note: In all species, if improvement is not observed after recommended treatment, the diagnosis and susceptibility of organisms should be reconfirmed. Medicated water should be the only source of drinking water during the treatment period. Prepare a fresh tylosin solution every 3 days.
