Zimectrin Horse Wormer contains a highly potent formula able to eradicate more than 29 types of worm/bot infestations from a horse’s body. For reference, a 6.08g tube is effective in horses 1250 pounds and lower. Note Allivet’s Horse Dewormer chart to check what dewormers are appropriate for the horse in question. 

What is Zimecterin?

Zimectrin is a horse wormer, it is one of the most effective parasite controls available. Rotation-free wormer kills more than 29 types of worms and bots in a single dose.

For use in horses.

Why use Zimecterin?

This medication kills a variety of parasites. Effective against but not limited to bots and the arterial stages of S. vulgaris.

What are the side effects of Zimecterin?

Swelling and/or itching post administration has been reported in equine with severe infestations.

What special precautions are there?

For application in horses only. Administration to other species may cause highly adverse side effects to occur—including death.

What to do if overdose?

Immediately contact your closest emergency animal hospital.

How can I store Zimecterin?

Store in a dry and cool environment. 20-25° C (68° F - 77° F).Minimal exposure to temperatures between 15-30° C (59° F - 86° F) are permitted.

Helpful Tips:

It is advised that horses undergo routine parasite management measures, with special observation given to mares, foals, and yearlings. Note* It is best for foals to experience their first administration after 6 to 8 weeks of life.


This syringe contains sufficient paste to treat one 1250 lb horse at the recommended dose rate of 91 mcg ivermectin per lb (200 mcg/kg) body weight.
