This formula is easy to apply and incredibly effective. It provides a month of protection against parasites, working to control tick infestations, treat and control mange, prevent heartworms, treat and control ear mites, kill adult fleas, and prevent flea eggs from hatching.
What does Senergy (selamectin) Topical for Cats do?
Selamectin, which is SENERGY™'s active ingredient, is in a drug class called macrocyclic lactone compounds. Compounds like selamectin work for a full month to control and treat sarcoptic mange, prevent hatching of flea eggs, control ticks, kill adult fleas, prevent heartworms from developing, and control ear mites.

What to know before using Senergy (selamectin) Topical for Cats
  • Do not use in humans.
  • Cats should receive a heartworm test prior to use. Cats with an existing infection should receive treatment before starting this medication.
  • Never use in underweight, debilitated, or sick pets.
  • Human reactions have included skin redness, itching, and hives.
  • No hypersensitivity reactions have been reported in cats with a patent heartworm infection when given 3 times recommended selamectin dosages. No higher dose was studied.
  • In case of eye contact, use large amounts of water to flush the eyes.

  • This product does not kill D. immitis in the adult stage.
  • This product is flammable and should be kept away from ignition sources, open flame, sparks, and heat.

  • Do not use on cats under 8 weeks old.
  • Although circulating microfilariae could decrease after use, this product is not formulated for clearance against microfilariae.
  • This product can irritate the eyes or skin of humans. Thoroughly wash your hands after handling.

Sold as a 3-dose, 3-month supply based on the weight of your cat:

Overview

Your veterinarian will have specific instructions for dosage and use, which should be closely adhered to. Recommended dosages are:

  • Up to 5 Pounds: Mauve (15 mg selamectin in each 0.25 mL tube)
  • 5.1 to 15 Pounds: Blue (45 mg selamectin in each 0.75 mL tube)
  • 15.1 to 22 Pounds: Taupe (60 mg selamectin in each 1 mL tube)




Directions for Use:

  1. Remove the applicator tube from the package.
  2. Hold the applicator tube upright. The expiration date and the lot number (printed at the bottom of the tube) should be visible.
  3.  Bend the tip of the applicator backward to snap it off.
  4. Part the dog's hair along his or her back. Application should take place at the base of the neck and in front of the shoulder blades. Your dog's skin should be visible and accessible.
  5. Place the applicator tip against the dog's skin. Squeeze the applicator tube 3 or 4 times, dispensing the complete contents on the skin in one spot.
  6. Keeping the tube squeezed, drag the applicator tube away and lift to remove it from the skin.
  7. Inspect the applicator tube to verify that all contents have been dispensed.




Take care:

  • Not to apply to broken skin (because of the alcohol content of the product)
  • Not to massage into the skin
  • To wait 24 hours to shampoo or bathe the pet
  • Not to apply to a wet coat
  • To dispose of the empty tube properly (in your regular household garbage)
  • To avoid contact with your own skin




Hair clumping, powdery residue, hair stiffness, or hair discoloration may be seen at the site of application. These signs are not concerning, temporary, and completely normal.
