Tylan Soluble Powder is an antibiotic for use in chickens, turkey, swine and honey bees. In chickens it can be used as an aid in the treatment of (CRD) chronic respiratory disease, in turkeys it can help reduce the severity of effects of infectious sinusitis, in swine in can help treat and control dysentery, and in honey bees it can help control American Foulbrood. *May also be recommended for off-label use in dogs and cats.

Why use Tylan Soluble Powder 100 gm?

Tylan has an antibacterial spectrum that is essentially gram-positive, but it is also active against certain spirochetes, large viruses, and certain gram-negative organisms (not including coliforms). It has also been found to be active against certain Mycoplasma species.

How does Tylan Soluble Powder 100 gm work?

When chronic respiratory disease threatens birds and slows gain, strategic medication with Tylan® Soluble can help protect flock health and profitability. In swine, Tylan Powder is indicated for use in the treatment of swine arthritis caused by Mycoplasma hyosynoviae; swine pneumonia caused by Pasteurella spp.; swine erysipelas caused by Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae; acute swine dysentery associated with Treponema hyodysenteriae when followed by appropriate medication in the drinking water and/or feed. In honey bees for the control of American Foulbrood (Paenibacillus larvae).

What are the side effects of Tylan Soluble Powder 100 gm?

Side effects consisting of an edema of the rectal mucosa, anal protrusion, diarrhea, erythema, and pruritus have been observed in some hogs following the use of tylosin. Discontinuation of treatment effected an uneventful recovery from the reaction.

What special precautions are there?

Keep away from children and animals. Adverse reactions, including shock and death may result from overdosage in baby pigs. NOT FOR USE IN HORSES

Contact your nearest emergency animal hospital.

How can I store Tylan Soluble Powder 100 gm?

Store at room temperature in a tight, light-resistant, childproof container. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Helpful Tips:

Consult your veterinarian before using this medication. It is generally recommended to not use this medication with certain other antibiotics including lincomycin, chloramphenicol, and clindamycin.
