Cefpodoxime Proxetil is an FDA-approved treatment for bacterial skin infections. The simple, one-daily dosing is easy to administer because it may be given without or with food.
What does Cefpoderm (Cefpodoxime Proxetil) Tablet do?
Cefpodoxime Proxetil are used to treat skin infections (abscesses and wounds) in dogs. These infections are caused by susceptible strains of certain bacteria, such as Proteus mirabilis, Pasteurella multocida, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus canis (group G, ß hemolytic), Staphylococcus aureus, or Staphylococcus intermedius.

Administer exactly as directed by your vet.
Usual dosage in dogs is 2.3-4.5mg/pound, given by mouth, once a day for 5 to 7 days or 2 to 3 days beyond the cessation of clinical signs, up to a maximum of 28 days.
