Prevail (Flunixin Meglumine Injection) may be injected intramuscularly or intravenously for as many as 5 days to alleviate visceral pain caused by colic.

Prevail (Flunixin Meglumine Injection) is an analgesic, nonsteroidal, non-narcotic, and powerful agent that boasts antipyretic and anti-inflammatory benefits. It is far more powerful than codeine, meperidine, and pentazocine as an analgesic.
Prevail (Flunixin Meglumine Injection), 100 ml side effects
In case of allergic reaction, seek emergency veterinary attention. These signs are:
  • Coma
  • Cold limbs
  • Pale gums
  • Seizures
  • Shock
  • Sudden diarrhea onset
  • Scratching
  • Hives
  • Swelling of the face

Overview
The recommended dose for musculoskeletal disorders is 0.5 mg per pound (1 mL/100 lbs) of body weight once daily. The recommended dose for the alleviation of pain associated with equine colic is 0.5 mg per pound of body weight. Intravenous administration is recommended for prompt relief.
