Clopidogrel is an orally administered anti-platelet medication for dogs with underlying hypercoagulability or cats with cardiomyopathy. It is proven to have impressive anti-platelet drug activity in cats with a wide dosage range. For animals who are intolerant to aspirin, this medication is particularly useful. Clopidogrel and other cardiac medications are often used for asymptomatic cats who have HCM. It may also be prescribed for dogs to treat immune-mediated hemolytic anemia.

Clopidogrel may be given with or without food. If a dose is accidentally skipped, administer it as soon as you remember, and time the next dose accordingly. Do not double up on the next dose.
