Frontline Gold for Cats and Kittens is a powerful, once-monthly, spot-on, topical treatment that works to kill chewing lice, ticks, flea larvae, flea eggs, and adult fleas. It contains 3 potent active ingredients - (S)-methoprene, fipronil, and a new additional ingredient of pyriproxyfen, which works to kill next-generation flea larvae and flea eggs before they have the chance to become adults. Regularly using this product aids in reinfestation prevention, offering one month of protection.

This treatment contains insect growth-regulating Nylar (pyriproxyfen) and (S)-Methoprene, along with fipronil. These ingredients work to target fleas in all life stages. The hair follicles and skin oils collect fipronil, and it continuously releases from the follicles onto the coat and skin. This results in lasting activity against mosquitoes, chewing lice, ticks, and fleas.

What are the side effects of Frontline Gold for Cats and Kittens?

What special precautions are there?

  • In case of clothing or skin contact, remove contaminated clothing. Skin should be immediately rinsed for 15 to 20 minutes using plenty of water. Seek treatment advice from a doctor or poison control center.
  • In case of eye contact, hold the eye open, then gently and slowly rinse using water for 15 to 20 minutes. Contact lenses should be removed after 5 minutes of flushing, and the eye should continue to be rinsed. Contact a doctor or poison control center to seek treatment advice.
  • In case of swallowing, seek immediate advice from a doctor or poison control center. If the person is able to swallow, they should sip water. Never induce vomiting unless directed by a doctor or poison control center. Never administer anything by mouth to any unconscious person.

  • Transient application site irritation may occur.
  • With the use of this or any other pesticide product, sensitivities can occur. If your pet exhibits sensitivity symptoms, give them a bath using plenty of mild soap and rinse using a large volume of water. If symptoms persist, seek immediate veterinary attention.
  • Never use on a kitten under the age of 8 weeks or under 3 pounds.
  • Only for external use.
  • Do not allow eye or clothing contact. Mild eye irritation can occur. Thoroughly wash your hands using soap and water prior to using the toilet, chewing gum, drinking, or eating.

How can I store Frontline Gold for Cats and Kittens?

Storage and Disposal : Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage and disposal. Do not use or store near heat or open flame.

Pesticide Storage: Keep this product in its tightly closed original container when not in use. Store in a cool, dry (preferably locked) area that is inaccessible to children and animals.

Pesticide Disposal : Wastes resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.

Container Disposal: Non-refillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. If empty: Offer for recycling, if available. If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.

TO PREVENT HARM TO YOU AND YOUR PET READ ENTIRE LABEL AND DIRECTIONS BEFORE EACH USE. FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS AND PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS CAREFULLY. USE ON CATS ONLY. DO NOT USE ON RABBITS, DOGS, PUPPIES, OR OTHER ANIMALS. DO NOT EXCEED RECOMMENDED DOSAGE AMOUNT FOR CATS.

To kill fleas, all stages of brown dog ticks, American dog ticks, lone star ticks, and deer ticks [which may carry Lyme disease], chewing lice and mosquitoes, apply to cats and kittens 8 weeks or older as follows:

1. Remove one applicator tube from the package and hold in an upright position pointed away from your face.

2. Twist dispensing tip clockwise about 1/2 turn while pushing down to break the tube’s seal. Do not remove the dispensing tip.

3. Position the dispensing tip on the cat’s back between the shoulder blades. Use the dispensing tip of the tube to part the cat’s hair so that the product will be applied at skin level. Squeeze applicator, applying entire contents in a single spot on the animal’s skin. Separate treated cat from other pets for 24 hours after treatment has been applied.

4. Repeat once a month.
