If your dog has fleas or ticks, talk to your veterinarian about other control measures you a can take, such as thoroughly cleaning your pet’s bedding and vacuuming carpeted areas, paying close attention to the area along the walls. In addition, discuss what type of flea and tick pills to use on any other pets in your home, since all pets will need to be treated to avoid an infestation. Ask your veterinarian to go over the flea life cycle and how it can influence the effectiveness of monthly flea control products.
