These treats are made using 100% raw, gently freeze-dried hake, redfish, herring, monkfish, flounder, and mackerel. The freeze-drying process locks in the rich, natural nutrients and flavors. The freeze dry kitchens at Orijen feature nitrogen tunnels to flash-freeze fresh ingredients at very low temperatures (below 60°F), which locks in the nutrients. From there, an 18-hour process of freeze-drying commences, which converts frozen water from the ingredients to an ice vapor but never creating liquid. With this process, water is the only thing removed from these fresh ingredients, which leaves the nutrients fully concentrated and creates a nourishing and flavorful treat that cats love.
