What does Cosequin for Cats, 80 Sprinkle Capsules do?
The unique combination of manganese ascorbate, FCHG49® glucosamine hydrochloride, and TRH122® low molecular weight chondroitin sulfate in the Cosequin formula work synergistically to maintain your cat's joint cartilage structure. It slows the enzymes that are known to break cartilage down. Glucosamine hydrochloride is a cartilage building block and a key nutrient in keeping the cells of cartilage functioning and healthy. Chondroitin sulfate works by blocking enzymes that cause cartilage to break down. Manganese ascorbate is needed to enhance cartilage component production. The Cosequin formula also works to provide support for the bladder wall's inner lining, which is naturally protected by a compound layer similar to those in cartilage.

Overview
Initial period is 4-6 weeks.
Under 10 lbs: 1 capsule sprinkled on food daily.
Over 10 lbs: 2 capsules sprinkled on food daily.
Capsules may be given once or twice daily depending on your cat’s feeding schedule.
Once desired response is obtained, capsules may be administered every other day to maintain your cat. Number of capsules administered may be increased at any time depending on your cat’s needs.
If your cat eats dry food, the food may be moistened with a small amount of water so that the powder sticks. Alternatively, the contents of the capsules may be mixed with a small amount of wet or moist food to ensure your cat eats the entire amount.
