What is Interceptor Plus for Dogs?

Interceptor Plus is a monthly chewable tablet manufactured by Elanco. It is used for the prevention of heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis and for the treatment and control of adult roundworm (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), whipworm (Trichuris vulpis), and tapeworm (Taenia pisiformis, Echinococcus multilocularis and Echinococcus granulosus) infections in dogs and puppies.

Who is Interceptor Plus for Dogs for?

Interceptor Plus can be used in dogs and puppies who weigh (two or more pounds and are six weeks of age or older).

Why use Interceptor Plus for Dogs?

Interceptor Plus chewables are intestinal parasite and heartworm preventatives that you only need to give to your dog once a month. These easy to administer tablets protect your pet against five major worms: heartworms, tapeworms, hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms.

How does Interceptor Plus for Dogs work?

Interceptor Plus eliminates the tissue stage of heartworm larvae and the adult stage of hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum), roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and whipworm (Trichuris vulpis) infestations when administered orally according to the recommended dosage schedule. The anthelmintic activity of milbemycin oxime is believed to be a result of interference with invertebrate neurotransmission.
