What does Advantage Treatment Spray for Dogs do?
Advantage Treatment Spray for Dogs contains Nylar as an active ingredient. Nylar is an insect growth regulator that stops eggs from hatching and kills larvae. Another active ingredient is Pyrethrins, which is a pest-killing insecticide that works on contact. The third active ingredient works to enhance the potency of Pyrethrins. When combined, these three ingredients work to kill hatching fleas and adults for as long as 100 days, continually protecting your pet by preventing flea development.

What to know before using Advantage Treatment Spray for Dogs
  • This product is flammable. Keep away from open flame and heat.
  • Application of this product is strictly prohibited directly into drains or sewers, or to areas such as gutters where drainage to aquatic habitats, bodies of water, storm drains, or storm sewers may occur. Never allow this product to enter any drain after or during application.
  • Consult your veterinarian prior to using this product on nursing, pregnant, aged, or debilitated animals.
  • Do not use on dogs under the age of 6 months.
  • Do not allow this product to make contact with the genitalia of your pet.
  • Do not spray directly onto/into your pet's eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Only for use on dogs.

USE RESTRICTIONS:
 
THIS PRODUCT IS FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.
 
USE ONLY ON DOGS. CONSULT A VETERINARIAN BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT ON DEBILITATED, AGED, PREGNANT OR NURSING ANIMALS.
Not for use in outdoor residential misting systems (indoor or outdoor) or outdoor metered release systems.
 
DO NOT TREAT DOGS UNDER 6 MONTHS OF AGE WITH THIS PRODUCT.
 
Do not use in aircraft cabins.
 
Do not wet articles to point of runoff or drip.
 
Do not use treated articles until spray has dried.
 
Application of this product is prohibited directly into sewers or drains, or to any area like a gutter where drainage to storm sewers, storm drains, water bodies, or aquatic habitat can occur. Do not allow this product to enter any drain during or after application.
 
FOR DOGS: Cover animal’s eyes with a hand. Do not spray directly on mouth, nose, or eyes. Spray head, ears, and chest until damp. With fingertips, rub into face and around mouth, nose, and eyes. Then spray from neck to tail, finishing legs last. For best penetration of spray to skin and on heavy-coated animals, direct spray against the natural lay of the hair, spraying the ruffled hair directly behind the hand. Make sure the spray thoroughly wets ticks. When used on miniature and toy breeds of dogs, towel-dry the animal after 1/2 hour if not totally dry. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 7 days (1 week).
 
FOR PUPPIES OVER 6 MONTHS: Wrap the animal in a towel that has been sprayed lightly with this product. Leave eyes, nose, and mouth exposed. Put some spray on the finger and gently rub around eyes, nose, and mouth area. Keep animal wrapped for 5 to 10 minutes. Fleas may then be removed from the coat by picking or combing. For best results, all dogs should be treated with a similar flea control product such as Advantage® Treatment Spray for Dogs to prevent reinfestation. Do not spray directly on puppies. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 14 days (2 weeks). Sensitivities may occur after using any pesticide product on pets. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately.
 
Advantage Treatment Spray for Dogs Caution : 
 
Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
 
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): Mixers, loaders, applicators, and other handlers must wear: long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes plus socks, chemical-resistant gloves. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables exist, use detergent or hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.
 
USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS: Users should wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. User should remove clothing/PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing. User should remove PPE immediately after handling this product. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.
 
ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS: This product is toxic to fish and other aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash water or rinsate.
 
PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL HAZARDS: Flammable. Keep away from heat and open flame.
 
FIRST AID
 
IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a poison control center or doctor. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give any liquid to the person. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
 
IF ON SKIN OR CLOTHING: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
 
IF IN EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, and then continue rinsing eyes. Call a poison control center for treatment advice.
