Finally, it contains an ingredient to enhance the potency of Pyrethrins. When combined in this formula, these effective ingredients work to kill hatching or adult fleas for an impressive 100 days, offering continued protection against flea development.

What are the side effects of Advantage Treatment Spray for Cats, 8 oz?

Any pesticide can cause sensitivities. If you notice any signs of sensitivity, give your pet a bath with mild soap, followed by a thorough water rinse. If the symptoms do not subside following bathing, seek immediate veterinary attention.

What special precautions are there?

  • This product is flammable. Keep it away from open flame and heat.
  • Product application is prohibited directly into drains or sewers or in any area where drainage to an aquatic habitat, water body, storm drain, or storm sewer may occur, such as a gutter.
  • Never treat a cat under the age of 7 months using this product.
  • Harmful when absorbed into skin or swallowed.
  • Mild eye irritation can occur.
  • Do not allow clothing, eye, or skin contact.
  • After handling, wash your hands thoroughly using soap and water before using the bathroom, using tobacco, chewing gum, drinking, or eating.
  • Contaminated clothing should be removed and washed prior to reuse.
  • Prior to administering this product to a nursing, aged, or debilitated animal, consult your veterinarian.
  • Do not allow contact with the cat's genitals, and never spray directly onto or into the eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Only for use on cats.
  • Keep out of reach of animals and children.

How can I store Advantage Treatment Spray for Cats, 8 oz?

Keep this product in its tightly closed original container when not in use. Store in a cool, dry (preferably locked) area that is inaccessible to children and animals and food and pet food. Container Disposal : Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. If empty: Place in trash Store in a dry and cool environment. or offer for recycling if available. If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

USE RESTRICTIONS:
 
THIS PRODUCT IS FOR INDOOR USE ONLY.
 
USE ONLY ON CATS. CONSULT A VETERINARIAN BEFORE USING THIS PRODUCT ON DEBILITATED, AGED, PREGNANT OR NURSING ANIMALS.
Not for use in outdoor residential misting systems (indoor or outdoor) or outdoor metered release systems.
 
DO NOT TREAT CATS UNDER 7 MONTHS OF AGE WITH THIS PRODUCT.
 
Do not use in aircraft cabins.
 
Do not wet articles to point of runoff or drip.
 
Do not use treated articles until spray has dried.
 
Application of this product is prohibited directly into sewers or drains, or to any area like a gutter where drainage to storm sewers, storm drains, water bodies, or aquatic habitat can occur. Do not allow this product to enter any drain during or after application.
 
FOR CATS: Cover animal’s eyes with a hand. Do not spray directly on mouth, nose, or eyes. Spray head, ears, and chest until damp. With fingertips, rub into face and around mouth, nose, and eyes. Then spray from neck to tail, finishing legs last. For best penetration of spray to skin and on heavy-coated animals, direct spray against the natural lay of the hair, spraying the ruffled hair directly behind the hand. Make sure the spray thoroughly wets ticks. When used on cats, towel-dry the animal after 1/2 hour if not totally dry. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 7 days (1 week).
 
FOR KITTENS OVER 7 MONTHS: Wrap the animal in a towel that has been sprayed lightly with this product. Leave eyes, nose, and mouth exposed. Put some spray on the finger and gently rub around eyes, nose, and mouth area. Keep animal wrapped for 5 to 10 minutes. Fleas may then be removed from the coat by picking or combing. For best results, all cats should be treated with a similar flea control product such as Advantage® Treatment Spray for Cats to prevent reinfestation. Do not spray directly on kittens. Avoid contact with genitalia. Repeat as required, but not more often than once every 14 days (2 weeks).
 
Sensitivities may occur after using any pesticide product on pets. If signs of sensitivity occur, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse with large amounts of water. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediately.
 
Advantage Treatment Spray for Cats Caution :
 
Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through skin. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco, or using the toilet. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
 
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE): Mixers, loaders, applicators, and other handlers must wear: long-sleeved shirt and long pants, shoes plus socks, chemical-resistant gloves. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning/maintaining PPE. If no such instructions for washables exist, use detergent or hot water. Keep and wash PPE separately from other laundry.
 
USER SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS: Users should wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet. User should remove clothing/PPE immediately if pesticide gets inside. Then wash thoroughly and put on clean clothing. User should remove PPE immediately after handling this product. As soon as possible, wash thoroughly and change into clean clothing.
 
ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDS: This product is toxic to fish and other aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash water or rinsate.
 
PHYSICAL OR CHEMICAL HAZARDS: Flammable. Keep away from heat and open flame.
 
FIRST AID
 
IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a poison control center or doctor. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a poison control center or doctor. Do not give any liquid to the person. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
 
IF ON SKIN OR CLOTHING: Take off contaminated clothing. Rinse skin immediately with plenty of water for 15-20 minutes. Call a poison control center or doctor for treatment advice.
 
IF IN EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, and then continue rinsing eyes. Call a poison control center for treatment advice.
