What does Vectra 3D for Dogs do?
Vectra 3D contains active ingredients of Permethrin, Pyriproxyfen, and Dinotefuran, which kill and repel mites (except for mange mites), sand flies, biting flies, lice, mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas. It uses a "hot foot" reaction to repel parasites as they come into contact with your dog's skin or coat and subsequently with Vectra 3D. The pests will then retreat back up the shaft of the hair without biting, ultimately dying. Mosquitoes detect the active ingredients in this product and avoid dogs, choosing not to even land on them 80% of the time.
Vectra 3D for Dogs side effects
The most common side effect of this and any pesticide is pruritus, erythema, or slight transitory redness at the application site. If a sign of sensitivity occurs, use mild shampoo or soap to bathe your dog, then rinse with plenty of water. If sensitivity signs occur and fail to resolve, notify your veterinarian. Be sure to keep the product label or container handy when speaking with your veterinarian.
