What does Command Deep Cleansing Animal Shampoo Plus Salicylic Acid, 12 fl oz do?
The sodium hydroxide saponifies fats, and the reactive oxygen radicals oxidize fatty acids, thus degrading the phospholipids in the cell wall and cell membrane of bacteria. Sodium hydroxide also acts on amino acids to produce salts, altering bacterial proteins. Hypochlorous acid by virtue of the chloramine reaction also degrades amino acids within proteins, thus inhibiting essential bacterial enzymes which are found at the cell membrane. A major effects of low molar ratios of hypochlorous acid is the oxidative unfolding of bacterial proteins which then aggregate, crippling and killing the organism. The low concentration capable of killing microbes creates minimal and reversible tissue damage to tissue.

Wet skin and coat thoroughly with warm water. Apply Command Shampoo and lather entire pet, avoiding contact with eyes and mouth. Massage lather into the animal's skin allowing for 5-10 minutes of contact time. Rinse completelv. Dry the skin and coat with a clean towel.
