My golden retriever had bad joints. In pain 24-7. Meloxicam works for her just as well as rimadyl. Meloxicam is less money and does the same for her.

Its used for my German Shepherd who has onset arthritis.

My Shepherd has had elbow and hip dysplasia since he was 6 months old. I first put him on Rimadyl but he kept throwing up until I took him off of it. He is 10 yrs old now and has had both his legs sawed in half and reset with rods. He also has arthritis in his joints and lower back. When I miss a couple of days of this medication he lays around more and walks with a limp but when he's on this medication he runs around and is more upbeat!

My 7 year old Lab mix was hobbling around on three legs due to arthritis in his hind leg. After taking these for a few days, we saw a huge difference in his ability to walk normally again. He now runs and plays with our grandchildren just the way he did a couple of years ago.
