Palladia works by both killing tumor cells and by cutting off blood supply to the tumor. In some dogs, Palladia can cause the tumor to shrink, stop growing, or even disappear.

In rare cases, serious and sometimes fatal complications have occurred in dogs treated with Palladia. This includes gastrointestinal perforation; if you suspect this condition in your dog, stop administering the medication and seek treatment.

What to know before using Palladia Tablet
  • Palladia is for dog use only, not for use in humans.
  • Keep Palladia in a secure storage area out of the reach of children.
  • Children should not come into contact with the urine, feces and vomit of dogs treated with Palladia.
  • Individuals who are pregnant, nursing, or may become pregnant should be particularly careful should they choose to administer the medication and follow all precautions carefully as Palladia prevents the formation of new blood vessels in tumors. Similarly, it may affect blood vessel formation in the developing fetus and may cause birth defects. Accidental ingestion of Palladia by a pregnant woman may have adverse effects on pregnancy.
  • If you or a family member accidentally ingest Palladia, seek medical advice immediately. Show the treating physician a copy of the package insert or label. In cases of accidental Palladia ingestion, you may experience gastrointestinal discomfort, including diarrhea and vomiting.

Toceranib phosphate is a small molecule with an indolinone chemical structure.
