Product Overview

Prednisolone is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid commonly prescribed by veterinarians to help manage a variety of ocular conditions in dogs and other animals. Available in both ophthalmic ointment and eye-drop formulations, it works to reduce inflammation and provide soothing relief under proper veterinary supervision.

Appearance: Translucent and colorless to white.

For use in dogs and cats.
Be sure to discuss any side effects your pet experiences while taking prednisolone with your veterinarian immediately. Common side effects include irritation, burning, or stinging after application. Other possible side effects include increased intraocular pressure, increased risk for infection, dilation of the pupil, and decreased wound healing.
Prednisolone Acetate
Overdose of prednisolone may cause more severe reactions similar to those listed previously in the side effects section. If you suspect your pet or another animal was accidentally overdosed or has eaten this medication inadvertently, contact your veterinarian or the A.S.P.C.A.'s Animal Poison Control Center at 888.426.4435. Always bring the prescription container with you when you take your pet for treatment. If you or someone else has accidentally ingested this medication call the National Capital Poison Center at 800.222.1222.
Keep prednisolone and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. Prednisolone is a prescription drug and should be used according to your veterinarian's directions, and it should only be given to the animal for which it was prescribed. Do not give this medication to a person. Prednisolone should not be given to animals that are allergic to it, or drugs like it, or to animals that have corneal ulcerations or corneal infections. Ophthalmic prednisolone should be used with caution in animals that have diabetes, systemic infections, chronic renal failure, heart failure, hypertension, or gastric ulcers.
