Sodium Bicarbonate 8.4% treats metabolic acidosis, a condition that results from the excessive production of acid. It can be used to treat many types, depending on the cause, and may be used in many different types of animals. Your veterinarian can determine if this is a good choice for your pet.
Sodium Bicarbonate 8.4% solution is used in the treatment of metabolic acidosis in cattle, horses, sheep, swine and dogs depending upon causative factor. Sodium Bicarbonate 8.4% solution is often added to other intravenous fluids for the less urgent forms of metabolic acidosis.
For use in dogs, swine, sheep, horses, and cattle.
Treats metabolic acidosis.
Sodium Bicarbonate increases the plasma bicarbonate level, alkalizes the urine, and raises blood pH.
Sodium Bicarbonate should not be administered to animals receiving diuretics that produce a hypochloremic alkalosis or in animals who are vomiting and losing chloride.
