Spironolactone Tablet side effects
If your pet experiences any of the following adverse reactions, immediately discontinue spironolactone administration and seek emergency veterinary attention.
- Decreased urination
- Numbness
- Weakness
- Confusion
- Fatigue
- Shortness of breath
- Irregular heartbeat
- Allergic reaction (Hives, swelling of the face, tongue, or lips, or difficulty breathing)
If any of these less serious reactions occur, continue use and speak with your veterinarian.
- Dry mouth
- Decreased appetite
- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Dizziness

What to know before using Spironolactone Tablet
- Do not administer spironolactone to pets who are allergic to it or have elevated levels of potassium, significant kidney disease, acute kidney failure, or Addison's disease.
- Do not administer to pets who might be used for breeding or pets who are not urinating.
- Use with caution in pets who are lactating or pregnant, or who have liver disease, uncontrolled diabetes, or other conditions causing imbalances of blood electrolytes.
