Appearance: Opaque and milky white to off white.

Be sure to discuss any side effects your pet experiences while taking tacrolimus with your veterinarian immediately. The most common side effects include burning, stinging and redness in the eye after application. Less commonly hair loss and discoloration around the eye may occur with long term use.

Overdose of tacrolimus may cause more severe reactions similar to those listed previously in the side effects section. If you suspect your pet or another animal was accidentally overdosed or has eaten this medication inadvertently, contact your veterinarian or the A.S.P.C.A.'s Animal Poison Control Center at 888.426.4435. Always bring the prescription container with you when you take your pet for treatment. If you or someone else has accidentally ingested this medication call the National Capital Poison Center at 800.222.1222.

Keep tacrolimus and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. Tacrolimus is a prescription drug and should be used according to your veterinarian's directions, and it should only be given to the animal for which it was prescribed. Do not give this medication to a person. Tacrolimus should not be given to animals that are allergic to it, or drugs like it. This medication should be handled and administered with disposable gloves.
