Product Overview

Tacrolimus is an immunosuppressive, lacrimimetic agent often prescribed by veterinarians to help manage a variety of ocular conditions in dogs and other animals. Available in both eye-drop and ophthalmic ointment forms, it supports tear production and promotes improved eye comfort when used under proper veterinary supervision.

Appearance: Clear and yellow, and essentially free of visible particulates.

Compounding & Dispensing Information: This medication is a compounded prescription manufactured by Wedgewood Connect, an FDA-registered outsourcing facility and dispensed through Allivet. Allivet does not compound this medication. Product images and sample labels are for illustrative purposes only; the final dispensed label may vary.

For use in dogs and cats.
Be sure to discuss any side effects your pet experiences while taking tacrolimus with your veterinarian immediately. The most common side effects include burning, stinging and redness in the eye after application. Less commonly hair loss and discoloration around the eye may occur with long term use.
Tacrolimus
Overdose of tacrolimus may cause more severe reactions similar to those listed previously in the side effects section. If you suspect your pet or another animal was accidentally overdosed or has eaten this medication inadvertently, contact your veterinarian or the A.S.P.C.A.'s Animal Poison Control Center at 888.426.4435. Always bring the prescription container with you when you take your pet for treatment. If you or someone else has accidentally ingested this medication call the National Capital Poison Center at 800.222.1222.
Keep tacrolimus and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. Tacrolimus is a prescription drug and should be used according to your veterinarian's directions, and it should only be given to the animal for which it was prescribed. Do not give this medication to a person. Tacrolimus should not be given to animals that are allergic to it, or drugs like it. This medication should be handled and administered with disposable gloves.
