How Is Zymox Used?

Zymox has a range of versatile products designed to provide relief from or prevent ear infections in dogs, cats, and horses as well as skin infections in dogs and cats.

Zymox for Ear Infections

An ear infection, acute or chronic otitis, is caused by bacteria, yeast, or fungus and is just as painful and uncomfortable for pets as it is for humans. Zymox offers enzymatic solutions and cleansers that are highly effective at treating this common problem.

Zymox Otic is an enzymatic solution that provides many benefits. It cleans your pet's ears while treating or preventing ear infections. You can get Zymox Otic with or without hydrocortisone. Choose the solution with hydrocortisone if your pet has red, inflamed ears that need soothing. The solution without hydrocortisone is best if you wish to use the product for an extended period of time.

Applying Zymox Otic

To use Zymox Otic, you do not need to clean your pet's ear first. Pre-cleaning the ear can disrupt the enzymatic activity in the ear.

• Simply apply the solution liberally in the affected ear, filling the ear canal.
• Gently massage the ear so that the solution makes its way through the ear canal.
• Wipe away any excess solution.
• Do this once daily for 7 days.
• If your pet has a chronic ear infection, you will need to use the treatment for 14 days.
• Zymox Otic WITHOUT hydrocortisone is safe and effective for extended use to prevent ear infections.

What is great about Zymox Otic is that it is a simple, easy way to treat your pet's ear problems. A complicated regimen of cleansers and medicine can be difficult to stick to, especially if your animal is protective of their ears. Your pet will appreciate that there is only a single daily application of this product.

Signs of Ear Infections in Pets

If your pet has an ear infection, you probably know the telltale signs:

Applying Zymox

Our topical cream and spray are designed for easy use. We make it easy to comply with the product's directions. We believe that if a treatment is too difficult and complicated to apply, it will not work.

Topical Cream

Apply a thin coat to the affected area 1-2 times per day for 7 days. May be lightly covered with a sterile bandage.

Spray

Shake well before use. Hold bottle 4 - 6" away from the affected area and apply until thoroughly covered. Apply once daily for one to two weeks. May be lightly covered with a sterile bandage.

Signs of Skin Infection in Pets

There are a range of skin problems that Zymox products can treat. However, the following symptoms are a clear indication of skin infection:
