Rabvac-3 is a killed rabies virus vaccine for the vaccination of healthy dogs, cats and horses for the prevention of disease due to rabies. This vaccine meets the three year duration of immunity requirements for dogs and cats, and one year duration of immunity for horses. Rabies vaccines cannot be sold to the following states: AK, AL, AR, CA, CT, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, MD, ME, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OK, OR, PR, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VT, WA, WV, WY.  No tags or certificates come with rabies vaccines. Tags must be purchased separately. Check with your state prior to buying to see if you can administer a rabies vaccination. 

What is Rabvac-3?

How is Rabvac-3 sold?

What are the side effects of Rabvac-3?

May produce anaphylaxis and/or other inflammatory immune-mediated hypersensitivity reactions. Antidote: Epinephrine, corticosteroids, and antihistamines may all be indicated depending on the nature and severity of the reaction.

What special precautions are there?

A local reaction may occur at the injection site following subcutaneous administration

What to do if overdose?

Contact your nearest animal emergency hospital.

How can I store Rabvac-3?

Store between 2° and 7°C (35° and 45°F). DO NOT FREEZE. Shake well before use.

Helpful Tips:

Revaccinate one year later and annually thereafter.

Dogs and Cats: Inject one 1 mL dose subcutaneously or at one site in the thigh intramuscularly at 3 months of age or older. Revaccinate one year later and every 3 years thereafter.
For Dogs, Puppies & Cats: Disposable Syringe w/ Needle 3cc. 3/4 or 5/8 Needle.
 
Horses: Inject one 2 mL dose intramuscularly at 3 months of age or older. NOTE: Two 1 mL vials must be used. Revaccinate one year later and annually thereafter. Disposable Syringe w/Needle 6 cc 1 inch Needle.

Rabvac-3

Rabvac-3 can be used in dogs cats and also horses, it is a killed virus vaccine used to prevent disease due to rabies. The vaccine meets the 3 year duration of immunity requirements for dogs and cats, but will only provide 1 year of immunity when it comes to horses.


In dogs and cats you should inject 1 ml dose subcutaneously starting at 3 months of age or older, revaccination should be one year later and then every three years thereafter. When it comes to horses the dosage should be 2 ml intramuscularly at 3 months of age or older, they should be revaccinated one year later and annually thereafter.

Vaccine should be kept cold but should be never frozen; it is sold in either 10 or 50 dosed and will be shipped overnight with ice packs to ensure the vaccine will be in perfect condition once it is delivered.

Some states require that rabies vaccines have to be administered by a licensed veterinarian. In addition, most local laws require that the vaccination include a certificate of vaccination and tag, which sometimes are only available through your veterinarian.
