What to know before using VetOne Silver Nitrate Applicators 6 inch, 100 ct tube
WARNING: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. VetOne Silver Nitrate contains active ingredients that are toxic and may prove fatal if ingested in sufficient quantities. Ingestion could lead to symptoms of toxic gastroenteritis, potentially resulting in coma, convulsions, paralysis, and profound alterations in respiration. If poisoning occurs, seek immediate medical attention and consult a physician.
In the event of eye contact, hold eyes open and flush thoroughly with water for a minimum of 15 minutes. It is imperative to consult a physician promptly.
Silver salts contained in this product may cause tissue staining, appearing black due to the deposition of reduced silver. This stain typically fades within two weeks.
Prolonged ingestion or absorption of silver compounds, whether originating from industrial or therapeutic sources (organic or inorganic), can lead to the deposition of silver in connective tissues. This may result in a slate-blue discoloration of the skin known as argyria. Discoloration may also manifest on mucous membranes, such as the gum margins, and the sclera of the eyes. The precise nature of the pigment, whether metallic silver or oxide, is not definitively known. Importantly, this discoloration persists throughout life but does not induce any systematic symptoms.
