Each formula is safe for use in lactating, pregnant, or breeding dogs. They are also both safe for use in puppies (ages 4 weeks and up for Sentinel and 6 weeks and up for Revolution). The differences between these two treatments are numerous. The primary difference is that Revolution is a treatment for existing flea and American dog tick infestations. It uses Selamectin to start killing fleas within 12 hours of application, and it also kills fleas. It treats and controls ear mites and sarcoptic mange. Finally, it puts an end to the flea life cycle by stopping the development of flea eggs and larvae.

In contrast, Sentinel is not formulated to kill existing flea infestations. It contains Milbemycin Oxime and Lufenuron.
